There’s Good Reason For This Website To Exist

But first, … Happy New Year! We made it through 2025 and now we can look forward to all that 2026 might bring. And so, let’s get down to business.

Above all else, I’m guessing you might be wondering why there could possibly be a need for this website? I mean, isn’t there already a website that’s been set up for our community?

Yes, there is, which is why I’ll try my best to explain about this site.

Several years ago, late in 2015 or so, I first created this website to help inform my fellow Association Members, neighbors and all other community residents of certain things being orchestrated by the then Board of Directors, things that appeared to be in direct violation of our Governing Documents; such documents as our Declaration of Restrictions, our By-Laws and other formal policies & official rules that had been put in place and/or sanctioned by a majority of the Association’s Membership. In fact, the claims of impropriety being made were so credible that the State of Florida authorized an investigation into the matter. It was determined that a number of the Association rules and such ere being intentionally ignored by the Board at that time and the entire matter needed to be addressed by the authorities up in Tallahassee. After the dust settled down, it became clear to me back at that time, that this website definitely helped to address those kinds of problems, at least to a certain degree, so after a couple of years, I decided to retire the website when new leadership took over.

After all, it only seemed right to allow the new leaders time to adapt and develop their own working style; to give them time to prove they would work withing the confines of our Governing Documents.

The same approach was taken into consideration two years ago when John Morgan first assumed the role as Association President. It made sense to give him time to get his feet wet and carve his own path. Now, two years later, as Mr. Morgan begins his third consecutive year leading our Homeowners Association, the time is certainly now past for me to be so silent.

As I look back to the election for the 2024 Board of Directors, I vividly recall Mr. Morgan pledging and promising to each of us, above all else, an administration of full transparency. In fact, Mr. Morgan started up his own website to publicize his promise of transparency. But sadly, to this day, I can’t honestly say I’ve seen that promise materialize.

And so, that’s why I’m freely giving of my time and energy, to help ensure that full transparency does exist, by sharing what I can on this website, … to share any and all information I feel might be of some sort of value to all those calling this fine community their home.

If you happen to be one of those who regularly attend this Association’s monthly Board/Membership meetings, then you’ve often heard Mr. Morgan challenge the Membership with words much like this … “If you’re going to complain about something, it’s your responsibility to step forward and do something about it.”

Well, that’s exactly what I’m intending to do with this website … step forward to do something … by sharing with each of you, any and all inconsistencies I may happen to notice, when it comes to the Board of Directors remaining compliant toward our Governing Documents. You have the right to know and I have the obligation to tell you. Simply because you may not be able to, or choose not to, attend monthly meetings you should never be left in the dark.

Recently, there have been a number of significant and blatant disregardings of our governing documents by the current Association President and certain members of his current Board … I encourage you to follow along with other postings here to see exactly what I’m talking about. Remember, it’s you, the valued Members of this community that are being short-changed. In fact, two of the most concerning situations are outlined in my next posting. By the way, I’ve also been known to offer up a few well-deserved compliments when appropriate, so be aware, my efforts here are not intended to be merely one-sided.
